The conference will deliver a significant forum for critical dialogue and exchange of information as hospitality institutions search for effective strategies to enhance access, corporate social responsibility, education, and cross-cultural understanding within the hospitality workforce. We will further our goals by focusing on market share growth, customer service enhancement, and competitive business ability aimed at an evolving customer base.

After 34 years of public service, including 24 years as an elected official, GOVERNOR EDWARD RENDELL continues to pursue many of the same issues he was passionate about while serving.  His commitment to making America a cleaner, more efficient place and to fostering investment in our nation’s crumbling infrastructure is as strong as it has ever been.

MAYOR JIM KENNEY On January 4, 2016, Kenney was sworn in as the 99th Mayor of Philadelphia. In his inaugural address, the Mayor laid out a vision for an accessible, accountable government that works for everyone in every neighborhood. To make that vision a reality, the Mayor is committed to expanding access to quality pre-k for high-need children, implementing the community school model in Philadelphia, eliminating unconstitutional stop and frisks and investing in our commercial corridors.

LUKE VISCONTI Founder & CEO of DiversityInc. will be delivering the opening remarks at Thursday morning's General Session. Luke launched DiversityInc as a website in 1997 and has guided it to be the leading publication for diversity, reaching more than 300,000 people monthly and ranked No. 1 globally for total web traffic and social-media reach.

The concept of ‘diversity’ is defined in many ways across organizations and among individuals, but the idea of ‘inclusion’ and the realization that diversity is a vital asset in a workforce, should be especially evident in the travel and tourism industry where people from all backgrounds interact daily. We at the PHLCVB have long been committed to supporting the diverse talent in our region, as evidenced by having the country’s first multicultural division of a CVB, now a business development division called PHLDiversity, which works to bring diverse conventions to Philadelphia. We are pleased to be supporting Lodging Media’s 2016 Diversity & Inclusion conference and hosting this event in Philadelphia, as it provides an excellent opportunity for honest dialogue about representation within the hospitality industry.
